Thank you for visiting and/or becoming a subscriber of www.joefx.com (“JOEFX”) and its services. JOEFX is an online information platform and a personal blog of Joesen Chen. All services and products provided through JOEFX are made available subject to the terms and conditions set out in the Terms of Service, of which this Privacy Policy shall form an integral part.
JOEFX is committed to protecting your personal data privacy in accordance with law and internationally recognized standards of personal data privacy protection.

We/JOEFX protect the privacy of users/subscribers of the JOEFX website, and the associated services provided by us. We may collect a very limited amount of your personal data. For the purposes hereunder, your “personal data” shall mean information about you or which can be used to ascertain your identity. It must also exist in a form which access to or processing of is practicable. For example, we may collect some information about you when you visit the JOEFX website because your internet provider address needs to be recognized by our server. You will also be invited to provide some information about yourself on various pages of the website.
Our services require some personal data to be collected. If you choose not to provide us with the personal data necessary to enable us to provide such services, you may not be able to use such services.
By using our services and providing personal information to us, you acknowledge that you have read through this Privacy Policy, and subject to your explicit consent which we may separately seek from you as may be required by applicable law, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy, including international transfers as set out in this Privacy Policy to countries outside where you are located.

2. How do we collect and use your personal data?

We may collect personally identifiable information about you either directly from you, or by combining information we collect and maintain through other means (such as IP addresses, or as we may receive from other third-party sites).
Any personal data collected from you on our website will only be used for the specific purposes mentioned at the time of collection or for purposes directly related to those specific purposes. For example, we may need to know your name and email address in order for us to provide subscription only content to you.
In the event that we require your payment for subscription charges or other service fees to be made via a third-party payment service, we will provide you with a link to such third-party payment service to process the relevant payment, however, unless it is necessary for the parties to consummate the transaction, we will not collect information about your bank account, credit card, or billing address, either from you or from such third-party payment service.
3. Transfer of data.
Since we provide services through resources around the world, your personal information may be transferred to foreign jurisdictions outside of your home country, unless restricted under applicable laws and regulations or specifically agreed by agreement. We may ask for your consent to the transfer of personal information across borders, or to implement security measures such as data de-identification prior to cross-border data transfer according to applicable law.
4. Direct marketing.
We do not intend to use your name and contact details to send you marketing materials about our services and/or related products; however, if we plan to do so in the future, we will only send our marketing materials to you using the contact information provided by you. If you do not want to receive our marketing materials, please send an email stating this to info@joefx.com.
5. Children.
Our services are not intentionally designed for or directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect or store personal information about children.
6. Retention of your personal data.
We will retain your personal data only for so long as is necessary for fulfilling the purpose for which they were collected. We keep your contact information (such as mailing list information) until you unsubscribe or request that we delete that information. If you no longer use our services and choose to unsubscribe from a mailing list, we may keep certain limited information about you so that we may honor your request.
7. Disclosure.
Your personal data will generally be kept confidential and will not be disclosed to any other person without your consent. However, your data will be used (and disclosed) to third parties for the purposes for which they were collected. For example, your personal data may also be disclosed where we are required to do so by law.

You are entitled, in accordance with the Privacy Ordinance, to check whether we hold data about you and to have access to those data. If any of these data are incorrect or inaccurate, you have the right to correct or update them. Requests for access to or to correct personal data should be addressed to info@joefx.com. In accordance with the Privacy Ordinance, we are entitled to charge a reasonable fee for processing any data access or correction requests.
